The Offaly Dyslexia Group looks forward to celebrating the opening of its doors next Monday evening, 28th September 2009 at 5pm. Following the success of our first term we look forward to welcoming back our original eleven children and enrolling an additional five children.
The new term will run for a period of thirteen weeks, observing all public and church holidays in tandem with the school calendar. Our new venue is Scoil na Croise Naofa, Geashill, Co Offaly.
The Staff and the Board of Management have kindly extended the use of four classrooms, an anteroom plus a storage area for ODG resource material storage.
The workshops are held from 5pm-7pm on Monday evenings. This is recommended by the Dyslexia Association of Ireland as children are more receptive (less tired) towards the beginning of the school week.
We currently employ a staff of four specially qualified tutors who provide practical support for children with dyslexia by introducing alternative learning styles. This is to complement mainstream education methods.
If you have a child who has recently been diagnosed with dyslexia please feel free to contact us.
