The Offaly Branch of the DAI wishes to thank those who have been saving used postage stamps on our behalf. Many of you prefer to remain anonymous in your generosity. We would however like to thank Belle Cheminée of Capel Street, Dublin and many other contributors to our cause…

Over the past year we’ve often been asked what we do with all these used postage stamps. So far the answer has been collecting them! When we have a significant amount of them we intend to sell them either as kilo-ware to stamp trading companies or as sorted stamps to private collectors.

If you would like to know more about stamp collecting where better to start with than An Post? Speaking of which, we would also like to take this opportunity to raise our caps to all our marvellous post-men and women who have endured the recent arctic conditions to make sure that we all receive our Christmas cards and pressies!

We know that this is an exciting time, especially for our younger readers, but do please be careful not to damage those postage stamps when ripping open your post! Remember to save them and save them to your favourite charity, ie the Offaly Branch of the Dyslexia Association of Ireland c/o F&D Walsh, Ballyduff, Geashill, Co Offaly.

Many thanks for all your support this year…
